STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

Many of us may be thinking it’s pretty darn good getting up in the morning and having places to go and people to see following the stagnation that came along with the coronavirus pandemic.

Caritas Chorale members will take note of that fact as they sing the traditional spiritual “Great Getting’ up Mornin’ ”

That’ll be one of several upbeat songs the Chorale will sing in its first appearances since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The Caritas Chorale will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18, at the Reinheimer Ranch just south of Ketchum on Highway 75. As always, the concerts are free. But reservations will be required at www.caritaschorale.org

“We just wanted to do some beautiful upbeat songs that we think are perfect for this time in a concert we’re calling ‘Celebrate, Honor and Remember,’ ” said Chorale Director R.L. Rowsey.

The program will include the familiar Coke song, “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing,” Spamalot’s “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,” Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s “Sun is Gonna Shine,” Keith Christopher’s “Let Us All Sing,” and Marvin Hamlisch’s “One Song.”

Also: “Everywhere That you Are” from Roald Dahl’s “James and the Giant Peach,” “The Human Heart” from the musical “Once on this Island” and “Happiness” from “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Parking is on the property but attendees should bring their own low back chair or blanket. Accessible seating and parking are available upon request by emailing Lila@FieldDazeSunValley.org

The venue will open at 6 p.m. for those wanting to indulge in drink and food ahead of the concert, said Caritas Chorale President Richard Stahl. Warfield’s Mobile Bar will be selling snacks, organic beer, cocktails featuring their organic spirits and mocktails.

While the concert is free, donations are welcome to cover the costs of sheet music and more. To make an online donation, go to www.caritaschorale.org Or, go to https://fielddazesunvalley.org
