Rand Peebles, a longtime resident of the Wood River Valley, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mountain West chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel this week.
Peebles began his career with POWER Engineers in 1987 when he was hired as outside counsel as part of his work with the Ketchum law firm Lawson & Peebles. While at that firm he also served for 13 years as the City of Sun Valley attorney and for 23 years as the attorney for the Blaine County School District.
He retired from private practice in 2008 to join POWER as its first-in-house counsel. The global consulting engineering firm, which got its start in Hailey, has more than 2,600 employees in 45 offices throughout the United States and abroad.
“Rand has seen us through some exciting times at POWER,” said CEO Bret Moffett. “From our transition to employee ownership in the early ‘90s to our exponential growth over the past decade, Rand has been an integral part of our team.”
POWER Chief Administrative Officer Jim Haynes called Peebles “a true gentleman.”
“We have such high regard not only for his skill as an attorney and the leadership he’s shown at POWER but also for his ability to connect with people,” he said. “Rand is empathetic, kind and humble and this award is a great testament to the impact he’s had on everyone he’s worked with.”
