Out of 91 climbing films, eight have featured a female climber as the main character—and the same woman was the subject in three of those.
“Pretty Strong” prides itself on showing “all your favorite climbing chicks in one film.”
A free screening of the just-released “Pretty Strong” will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Wood River YMCA. The screening is one in a series of films presented by the Roy A. Hunt Foundation.
The film follows eight of the world’s strongest female climbers as they push themselves and the boundaries of their sport on 5.13 big walls in Yosemite, 5.14 sport climbs in Mexico and V14 boulder conundrums in Colorado.
