Got a good project benefitting the Wood River Valley?

The Wood River Women’s Foundation is accepting online applications for the organization’s 2020 grants program.

The completed application is due midnight Monday, Dec. 2, 2019. Details can be found under “Apply for a Grant” tab at www.woodriverwomensfoundation.org.

The Wood River Women’s Foundation accepts applications for a variety of areas, including arts, education, environment, health and recreation and social services. Grants range from $5,000 to $25,000 and will be distributed in July 2020.

Past grants have ranged from supporting the Wood River Wolf Project, which has pioneered work to prevent conflicts between wolves and sheep, to Swiftsure Ranch Therapeutic Equestrian Center, which received a grant to purchase four new equine therapists.

This is the 15th anniversary of the Foundation, which awarded more than $2.6 million to nonprofits serving Blaine County during its first 14 years, noted WRWF President Terri Bullock.

“There’s so much great work being done by local nonprofits; we have been honored to support their missions since 2005 and look forward to supporting them for years to come,” she added.

The WRWF awarded grants totaling more than $267,918 to 11 local nonprofits in 2019. Many of the Foundation’s 300-plus members are involved in reviewing applications, visiting applicants and listening to the presentations describing the projects seeking grant money.

The entire membership votes on the final grant awards.

The Wood River Women’s Foundation is designed to help women leverage their giving power by pooling their donations—or membership fees.
