Stanley Winterfest Prompts a Yabadabadoo

It was a “Yabadabadoo!” good time as Wilma settled into an outhouse modeled after the Flintstones car and hung on for dear life as Fred and Barney pitted her against a couple dozen other contestants in the annual Stanley Winterfest this past weekend.

The lack of snow made things challenging for rafting as organizers could only run two smaller rafts down the hill this year to avoid rocks and obstacles. And the day was a bit chilly, having started out at minus 17.

But the crowd was enthusiastic and the toilet seat trophies painted by Stanley’s own Ramey Zottarelli-Matthews were definitely worth pushing specially crafted outhouses down the street in hopes of nabbing one to hang on your bathroom wall.

Check out the fun as Karen Bossick takes you to Stanley, Idaho, in today’s Eye on Sun Valley video.
