Dia de los Muertos Celebrates Beloved Family Members and Others

Monday, October 30, 2023

Dia de los Muertos has nothing to do with Halloween but often gets lumped together with what is one of America’s favorite holidays because it falls the two days after Halloween.

The holiday, celebrated widely in Mexico, is a day to celebrate deceased ancestors and is filled with orange paper flowers designed to resemble marigolds, sugar skulls, sweetbread rolls, candles and favorite mementos of the deceased.

Learn more about the celebration in today’s Eye on Sun Valley video filmed at the Sun Valley Museum of Art’s Hailey House.
