It’s too bad we can’t stage an encore of the Baldy Hill Climb as beautiful as the fall weather has been. As it was, a record 280-plus adults and children ran and hiked 1.8 miles and 2,045 vertical feet in the 45th Annual Baldy Hill Climb put on by the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation Nordic program.
When all was said and done, Peter Wolter, who won the 2023 Boulder Mountain Tour, claimed victory, alongside Mariah Bredal. He edged out Miles Fink-DeBray, who had won 11 previous Baldy Hill Climbs.
“The race was great, it ended up being pretty difficult because the first bit required quite a bit of running and the final stretch had some downhill running. I’m more of a power hiker type of running race guy so this year’s race was challenging but super happy to have taken the win!” said Wolter.
