The Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center is hosting a free public Introduction to Avalanches class for Spanish speakers that is very likely the first of its kind in the United States, according to executive director Hannah Marshall.

The Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center has partnered with Sun Valley Company to deliver the Introduction to Avalanches class for Spanish speakers. The presentation will cover basic concepts about snow, avalanches, and traveling safely in and near avalanche terrain. Individuals of all ages and abilities are welcome.

The class will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Sun Valley Inn’s Limelight Room C. Admission is free and no pre-registration is required. All attendees will be entered into a raffle.
