STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

Registration is being taken today—Friday, March 1—for the 66th annual Kindercup on Sun Valley’s Dollar Mountain. The event will be held Sunday, March 3, at Sun Valley’s Dollar Mountain.

The rite of passage for youngsters begins with races at 10:15 a.m. The Award Ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. near the Dollar Mountain Lodge patio.

The race is free and opened to non-sanctioned alpine skiers and snowboarders ages 3 through 12. It’s all in fun but it has given some participants, such as Picabo Street, the inspiration to go further and faster.

Pre-register online at www.papooseclub.org/kindercup.

Parking will be at the Sun Valley Pavilion parking lot with shuttles beginning at 8 a.m. Bib pickup will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

The event is run by the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation and Papoose Club members with the help of Sun Valley Resort.

Sponsors include Windermere Real Estate, Eye on Sun Valley, Webb, G&C, Sun Valley Title, Idaho Lumber, Zenergy Sun Valley, Native, St. Luke’s Wood River, Pioneer Title Co., Davis Embroidery, Stinker and Oasis.

Volunteers are needed. To help, register at https://www.papooseclub.org/
