Trailing of the Sheep-A Retrospective

Wednesday, October 23, 2019

The 1,500 sheep that trailed down Ketchum’s Main Street last week on the way to John Faulkner’s Gooding sheep ranch were as mellow as they get.

They didn’t “baa.” They didn’t “bleat.”

Instead, the noise was left to the applause of the spectators lining the street seven people deep in some cases. “Look! Look at that!” they shouted.

Go behind the scenes of the Trailing of the Sheep Festival as Eye on Sun Valley’s Karen Bossick takes you to its founders John and Diane Peavey, the Sheep Folklife Fair and the Big Sheep Parade.
