The Blaine County School District’s BC Bots program is sending two teams to the VEX World Robotics Tournament in Louisville, Ky., in April. It’s sure to be tense, even scary, as they face the best of 16,000 teams from 40 countries around the world.
Some of the local BC Bot competitors will take offer a demonstration of their robots’ abilities to carry out tasks like picking up things and crawling over things during Thursday’s Business After Hours, which will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the new Mountain Humane center, 101 Croy Creek Road west of Hailey.
The kids are selling raffle tickets for a bicycle provided by Power House and other prizes to help finance their trip to Louisville. Donations can be made through www.gofundme.com/wrmsrobotics2019.
