Volunteers are needed for Saturday’s 5th annual Big Wood River Clean Up.
The Wood River Land Trust is organizing a cleanup from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. Sept. 17--along the river in Hailey and Ketchum. It will follow that up with a party featuring live music, food and beverages.
Last year volunteers put in 93 hours extracting 1,020 pounds from the Big Wood River—the biggest, a couch someone had apparently pushed off the Glendale Bridge into the river.
Volunteers are asked to stop by the Draper Preserve in Hailey and Ketchum Towne Square at 9 .m. to get marching orders. The cleanup will take place from 9 to 11 a.m.
It will be followed by a cleanup celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ketchum Town Square.
There’ll be brunch foods from The House in Hailey, drinks from Warfield Distillery and Brewery and live acoustic music provided by Tyler and the Train Robbers. The band is being underwritten by Lost River Outfitters; Silver Creek Outfitters and Sun Valley Outfitters also are helping to sponsor the event.
