Volunteers are needed to help put the Hailey Native Plant Arboretum to bed for fall.
Volunteers plan to meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Arboretum, which sits north of Fox Acres Road on the east side of the Wood River Trail bike path.
Arborist Linda Ries and others promise to offer a tour of the native plants in the arboretum in exchange for a little light pruning, weeding, planting and seed sowing.
Established in 1996, the arboretum contains 50 native tree and plant species, including Western white pines—Idaho’s state tree—and Idaho’s state flower—the syringa, or mock orange
Volunteers should bring gloves and wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
