They collected some 60 suggestions. And in the end a panel deciding the name of the new town square building sided with the name that had been in use all along.
The name for the old Copy & Print building that the City of Hailey purchased in August 2021 is now officially Hailey Town Center West.
The second top vote getter was Hailey Community Corner, and another favorite was The West Wing, according to Hailey Librarian Kristin Fletcher.
The committee selecting the name was comprised of Hailey Mayor Martha Burke, City Administrator Lisa Horowitz and librarians Caitlyn Mills and Kristin Fletcher. They narrowed the list to six for a second round of voting, and more than 130 people showed up at the polls.
The 4,000-square-foot building once housed the Hailey post office. It also has been the site of an sportsman’s retailer and Copy & Print.
The building has been utilized for meetings, trainings, classes and library presentations. To reserve the space, visit www.haileypubliclibrary.org and check out the Room Use Policy under the About the Library dropdown menu.
