STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

A Bald Mountain Summer Kick Off Party will kick off month of July at Sun Valley Resort on Saturday. And the fun will continue throughout summer with Wednesday lawn parties and free yoga lessons.

  • The Bald Mountain Summer Kick Off Party outside River Run Lodge will include a full day of free outdoor yoga, live music, lawn games, an outdoor BBQ and bar.

Pete Lane’s will offer free bike inspections and there’ll be raffle prizes, including a custom New Belgium bicycle.

It’s not a one-time deal. Live music, lawn games, food and beverages will be offered at River Run from 4 to 7 p.m. for five Wednesdays in a row beginning July 20.

The lift service will be extended two additional hours on those nights with lift service offered from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. And a portion of the proceeds from lift ticket sales will benefit a different local nonprofit each week.

    in addition:

  • Complimentary yoga classes sponsored by Brass Ranch will be held at 9 a.m. Saturdays and Tuesdays outside River Run Lodge during July and August. Additionally, The Spa at Sun Valley will offer free yoga on the Pavilion Lawn at 10 a.m. on five Wednesdays—July 13 and Aug. 13-24.

Participants of all ages and skill levels are invited to join.

  • Yoga on the Mountain will be held atop Bald Mountain at 10 a.m. Sundays beginning July 10 and running through Aug. 28. Each session costs $60 and includes instruction and a lift ticket. Registration for Yoga on the Mountain can be made online or at the Recreation Office in Sun Valley Village.

    Hankering for more fun?

  • Don’t forget the other summer activities Sun Valley Resort offers. They include 45 holes of golf, horseback trail rides on Dollar Mountain, trap shooting at Sun Valley Gun Club, lift-assisted mountain bike riding on Bald Mountain and scads of hiking opportunities.
