Visit Sun Valley to Examine the Changing Nature of Tourism
Thursday, May 19, 2022

The death of tourism as we know it.

That’s one of the topics that will be on the agenda when Visit Sun Valley holds its Semi-annual Community Meeting on Tuesday, May 24.

The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Ketchum’s Community library. It also will be presented virtually through Zoom.

Scott Fortner and his staff will discuss Visit Sun Valley’s new role. Visit Sun Valley changed its business name from the Sun Valley Marketing Alliance in March to the Sun Valley Tourism Alliance to reflect the growth in visitation.

The group identified that it did not need to create additional demand but rather shift to managing a level of visitation that is appropriate for the community.

They also will discuss what residents said about the quality of life in Sun Valley in a Sentiment Survey., reflect on the winter season and offer a look ahead at the summer season.
