Basket Brigade Closes Out 2021
Wednesday, December 29, 2021

The Wood River Valley’s Basket Brigade has been busy as the old year draws to a close.

The Blaine County Republican Women recently bestowed baskets full of energy bars, trail mix, popcorn, apple cider, hot chocolate packets and Snickers bars to 120 doctors, nurses and health care workers at St. Luke’s Wood River hospital.

“And, of course, we included Lifesavers because they are life savers for all of us,” said Polly Weaver.

Mission accomplished, the women braved the long lines at the valley’s four post offices where they gifted postal employees with mugs filled with cocoa, chocolate dipping sticks, marshmallows, candy canes and stickers for energy.

“They work so hard all year long, but especially during the holidays,” said Weaver.
