Courageous Kids Climbing is offering up to 20 people with special needs a free opportunity to try rock wall climbing at the Wood River YMCA on Saturday.
Representatives of the McCall, Idaho-based organization will be at the Y from 1 to 3 p.m. They will be offering the chance to try the wall to anyone with special needs, whether it be physical, intellectual, visually challenged, hearing impaired or even burn survivors.
The group is made of rock climbers who donate their time to teach children with special needs how to climb. They have conducted events in Driggs, Rexburg, Twin Falls, Boise, Meridian, Moscow and McCall, as well as several places in Washington, California, Nevada and Arizona.
They also have provided more than free teddy bears and beanie babies to first responders in southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon.
