Blazing Pumpkins is back after a year’s hiatus.
The family-friendly Halloween event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Swiftsure Ranch at 114 Calypso Lane in Bellevue.
Admission is $10 per person with those 12 and under admitted free.
New this year is a Community Carving Contest with some great prizes on the line. Those wishing to compete can drop off carved pumpkins from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20 at the ranch or at Big Wood Landscape, 12449 Highway 75 near Ketchum.
Winners will be announced at 7 p.m. during the Blazing Pumpkins event.
In addition to the contest, dozens of glowing Jack o’ Lanterns will be set up along the sensory trail at the ranch. There’ll be s’mores by the fire, ring toss, corn hole, ladder ball, face painting dancing and live music by Red Light challenge.
KB’s Restaurant will have food and drinks for sale.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Swiftsure Ranch and its therapeutic horse riding program, which is provided free of charge to adults and children with a variety of challenges ranging from learning disabilities to multiple sclerosis.
