A Wood River Valley Latino mother will share her story on Monday of how she received the help and support she needed when she found her daughter struggling with mental health challenges.
The mother will speak at a special presentation at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at the Minnie Moore room of the Community Campus. The meeting will be livestreamed, as well.
The presentation is provided by the Hispanic/LatinUS Leadership Task Force as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, which began Sept. 17 and continues through Oct. 14. Cox Communications has been the lead sponsor for the monthlong celebration.
“Suicide prevention and mental health awareness is a community issue and one we can learn to talk about,” said Tammy E. Davis, executive director of the Crisis Hotline.
