The Blaine County Historical Museum plans to name four women to its Heritage Court this year after taking a year off because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 17th year of honoring women who have contributed to the history and heritage of Blaine County will look different, though.
Because of ongoing restrictions concerning group activities, the women will not ride in a horse-drawn carriage in the valley’s four big summer parades. Instead, each of the four women will ride in separate cars through the streets of Old Hailey in the Fourth of July Days of the Old West Parade.
They will not be treated to tea by The Community Library, nor will they be crowned in a ceremony at The Liberty Theater as in past years. Instead, The Senior Connection will host an invitation-only outdoor luncheon in early August where each lady will be given flowers and a commemorative clock.
The committee hopes to announce this year’s Ladies of the Heritage Court soon.
