R.L. Rowsey and several of the valley’s thespians will star in two nights of music Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26, at Reinheimer Ranch.
Rowsey will perform with Jana Arnold, Andrew Alburger, Lila Claghorn, Madison Hansmeyer, Courtney and Ward Loving, John and Melodie Mauldin, Nick Sacks and Aly Wepplo in a night of musical comedy.
Shows begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Reinheimer Ranch opposite the iconic Reinheimer Barn at Ketchum’s south entrance. Tickets range from $25 to $40 with senior and student rates available. They can be purchased online at www.fielddaze2020.org.
The performances are part of Field Daze, a series of outdoor performances started by Cathy Reinheimer and others to inject theater and music into a summer where many theater and musical events were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s about bringing live theater back to the valley and it’s going to be amazing,” said Reinheimer. “These are respected musical people who haven’t had a venue to do something. It’s Songs and the Solstice.”
As with past performances, there will be protective open-air tents for the audience. Audience members should bring their own chairs, picnics and beverages.
“It’s been wonderful watching audience members who haven’t seen live theater since winter seemingly reborn as they laugh and watch the expressions on actors faces. It’s like they’re little children in Wonderland. And they’re so grateful, everyone connecting with each other again,” said Reinheimer.
Between 35 and 85 people have attended past performances with everyone masked and socially distanced.
“This is the pinnacle of the first summer of this theater and it’s a wonderful use of the fields,” said Reinheimer. “I’m hoping we can do it again next summer, even if COVID is abated.”
