Six of the best segments from Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning plays will be rolled out under the stars in Ketchum this week.
Gary and Connie Hoffman will present “An Evening of Theater Delight” at the makeshift theatrical Field Daze venue set up on the lawn of Ketchum’s Reinheimer Ranch across the highway from the iconic Reinheimer Barn on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11 and 12.
The show, which the two presented in Sedona, Ariz., last year, will begin at 6:30 both nights.
It will run 85 minutes without an intermission. It will be performed as staged readings with music, costumes and props. The couple are keeping the names of the plays under wraps.
Gary Hoffman said he wanted to support Cathy Reinheimer for finding a way to keep a semblance of live theater going in Sun Valley during the coronavirus pandemic. Creative efforts like hers, as well as that by the Sun Valley Music Festival, kept culture alive and well this summer, he said.
Others taking the stage this summer have included Sun Valley’s Funny Guy Mike Murphy and some of the valley’s favorite actors and singers in cabaret-style entertainment.
Guests will be seated in socially distanced pods under an open-air tent. They should bring chairs and drinks and snacks if they wish. Warm jackets are also recommended for when the sun sinks behind the mountain.
Guests will wear masks until they reach their pods.
