Rock N’ Bingo, Gathering Remnants to Offer Fun at The Argyros
Wednesday, September 2, 2020

Rock out to live Bingo. And see two local filmmakers’ documentary paying tribute to the working cowboy at The Argyros Center for the Performing Arts.

  • The Argyros will offer Bingo Night at The Argyros from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays during September beginning Sept. 3. Admission is free and the event is capped at 40 guests. Doors open at 6.

It’s not your grandmother’s Bingo. Instead of numbers, song clips will be played to fill the cards. This  week’s themes for the two hour-long games are One Hit Wonders and Classic Rock. Players are invited to drink beverages, cheer loudly and sing along to the songs as they play.

Drinks are available at The Argyros café. Players are invited to brig their own takeout food.

  • Friday through Sunday The Argyros will showing “Gathering Remnants—A Tribute to the Working Cowboy.”

The 50-minute documentary by Sun Valley filmmakers Kendall Nelson and John Plummer will be shown free of charge at 2, 3, 4 and 5 p.m. all three days free of charge. The café will be open for moviegoers to purchase lattes and wine.

The film offers an honest portrait of the last American cowboys, unflinching and thought-provoking as it  questions whether the traditional cowboys’ ways of life will survive the 21st century.

It was filmed in Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Texas.

  • Also Friday through Sunday, Peter Davenport will perform live acoustic rock from 5 to 6 p.m. The concerts are free, as well.
