Higher Ground has received $27,500 from the International Skiing Fellowship of Rotarians.
The Rotarians met in Sun Valley in the winter of 2020 for a week of skiing. While here, they raised money through a gala with silent, live and cake auctions. And several Rotarians participated in the Higher Ground Challenge, translating vertical feet skied into dollars.
They also had the opportunity to check out Higher Ground’s adaptive programs and follow local Rotarians around Bald and Dollar Mountains.
Ketchum-Sun Valley Rotary Club President Alex Stoll presented the donation to Higher Ground.
“We were treated like VIPs and enjoyed getting to know local Rotarians and Higher Ground participants and staff,” said ISFR President Allyson Walker, whose organization was founded in the early 1970s as a social fellowship of Rotary International.
The funds will be vital in helping Idahoans with disabilities lead healthy, fulfilled lives as demand for Higher Ground’s adaptive ski programs continually increases, said Kate Dobbie, CAF-Higher Ground executive director.
