Sun Valley watercolor artist Susan Perin will offer a five-day workshop on “Watercolor Foundations” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 6-10 at Sun Valley Museum of Art’s Hailey classroom.
The workshop will focus on creating realistic and abstract paintings.
Workshop participants will explore the color wheel, hue, value and intensity of their brush. They will paint a still life or two, using color in shadows and reflected light. And they will come away with an understanding of color theory and key techniques for watercolor painting.
Students of all experience levels are welcome.
Born and raised in England and Yemen, Perin is a graduate of Parsons School of Design in Greenwich Village. Her award-winning work has appeared in five national galleries and in multiple plein-air shows. She has taught painting workshop throughout her adult life.
“This is a thorough class on painting and students will gain rich knowledge of the medium,” said Jeanne Knott, visual arts class assistant at SVMoA.
Tuition is $425 for SVMoA members and $475 for nonmembers. To learn more, visit www.svmoa.org or call 208-726-9491.
