Sleep expert Dr. Matthew Walker, environmental advocate Robert F. Kennedy and Dr. Eben Alexander will be among the featured speakers at the 2020 Sun Valley Wellness Festival & Conference.
The conference will be held June 26 through 29.
Dr. Walker, director of the Center for Human Sleep Science at the University of California-Berkeley, is a sleep scientist who works on the cutting edge of findings related to sleep and how sleep relates to human health and disease.
His New York Times best-selling book “Why We Sleep” offers a prescription for sleep. And it explains how to harness sleep to prevent cancer, Alzheimer’s, obesity and diabetes, while slowing the effects of aging, increasing longevity, improving learning and mood and regulating hormones.
He has appeared on “60 Minutes” and helped create the recent National Geographic documentary “Sleepless in America,” as well as the PBS Nova episode titled “Memory Hackers.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a climate activist and clean technology entrepreneur, is making an encore appearance at the Sun Valley Wellness Festival, as is Dr. Eben Alexander, a neurosurgeon whose near-death experience led him on a journey to comprehend the nature of consciousness.
Joining them will be Dr. Zach Bush, a physician who talks about healing the gut and the soil; Dr. Sasha Heinz, a behavior change expert; Nora McInerny, a grief expert and author of the “Terrible, Thanks for Asking” podcast. Also, Dr. Terrence Real, a psychotherapist known for his work on male depression and the healing of trauma; David Pond, a nationally recognized astrologer, and Austyn Wells, a spiritual medium and “soul gardener.”
Additional speakers will be announced soon.
The 2020 conference will offer more than 50 presentations, workshops and movement classes. There also will be film screenings and music.
