Mountain Humane is staging a pet food drive for dogs and cats in the Wood River Valley.

Volunteers have placed collection boxes at Atkinsons’ Market, Mountain Humane and other sites in the valley. They include Albertsons, Zion Banks, The Village Market, Sun Valley Animal Centers, Sawtooth Animal Center, Wood River YMCA and The Barkin’.

Since 2010 Mountain Humane’s Paws for Hunger program has distributed 7,350 bags of dog and cat food to Blaine County families who are in need. The organization has distributed more than 1,284 bags of food this year alone.
