The City of Ketchum will unveil Truck 1, its new ladder truck, on Friday, Sept. 27.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m. at the Ketchum Town Square.
The Ketchum City Council approved the purchase of the truck with its aerial tower in May 2019. The truck replaces the 1987 ladder truck, which was taken out of service when its aerial tower component became inoperable.
“Safety is our top priority,” said Mayor Neil Bradshaw. “It’s essential for the city to have the best equipment for our firefighters so they can continue to act quickly and effectively.
The truck was purchased for $959,069 from the Hughes Fire Equipment, Inc. The city paid the down payment of $250,000 from its Capital improvement Fund. It will make annual payments of $58,518 through 2034.
Local food and beverages will be available at the ribbon cutting. And Devon Tyler will perform at the last Sounds of September concert starting at 5 p.m.
