Sun Valley’s famous dark skies could come alive with color tonight and Sunday.
The aurora borealis is expected to brighten the skies in parts of several northern states this weekend, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The Northern Lights could flicker across Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, New York, Vermont and Maine due to geomagnetic storm activity.
The best time to see them is a couple hour before or after midnight.
Nearly 20 years ago, the Northern Lights appeared here during winter, casting a red fire-like glow over Hailey, while illuminating the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls with a blue-green glow.
