Grrrr. It should be a holiday in Sun Valley.
Yup, that would be National Dog Day, which is today--Monday, Aug. 26.
Wow! Bow! And Bow Wow, too!
One of Ketchum’s hotels--Hotel Ketchum—has been recognized by “Travel” for its attention to our four-legged friends.
And the hotel will be offering complimentary upgrades for dogs—and owners, too—today. It also will donate 100 percent of all pet fees collected to Mountain Humane.
And it will host a Yappy Hour from 4 to 6 p.m. today with beer and wine for humans and treats for dogs.
Of course, the Limelight Hotel’s affinity for the Fidos and Rovers of the world doesn’t go unnoticed, either.
Check in with a four-legged friend and the smiling young man at the desk will give you a dog frisbee, treats and water bowl. And, just when you least expect it, a waiter is likely to slip your pup a treat.
What are other hotels doing to observe National Dog Day?
Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach, Calif., will have Fido-themed cocktails for humans. And the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia will have a National Dog Day Pup-fest with free dog washes, caricatures, a photo booth and treats from Big Gay Ice Cream, as well as such snack specials as Hush Puppies and Greyhounds.
BrewDog Brewery in Columbus, Ohio, will have a puppy pool party with craft beer for dogs and free doggie cupcakes, a make-your-own dog bowtie class and a dog agility competition, and quick nail treatments.
Not a bad way to end the Dog Days of Summer!
