Individual tickets for the 2019 Sun Valley Writers Conference will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19.
This year’s available talks, which will be at the Sun Valley Pavilion, are:
- 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20 … $35 each Rick Atkinson, Pulitzer Prize-winning Author and Military Historian, “The British Are Coming: America’s War for Independence”
- 4 and 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 21 … $60 for two-talk package featuring Alice McDermott, National Book Award-winning Novelist, “Remembrance of Things That Never Happened,” and Andrew Roberts, Biographer, Historian, and Journalist, “Churchill: Walking with Destiny.” Roberts will speak at 5:30 p.m.
- 4 and 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 22 … $60 for two-talk package featuring The Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, Chamber Singers Performance, “I Raise My Voice,” and Mitch Landrieu, Author and Former New Orleans Mayor, “E Pluribus Unum: How a Divided America Can Win the Future by Finding Common Ground. Landrieu will speak at 5:30 p.m.
- 12 p.m. Tuesday July 23… $35 each Naomi Shihab Nye, Poet, Songwriter, and Novelist, “Tell My Story: The Power of Poetry.”

This year’s Writers Conference—the 25th-- will run Saturday, July 20, through Tuesday, July 23, at Sun Valley Resort. It will feature such speakers as Abraham Verghese and Julie Lythcott-Haims, who recently spoke at the Sun Valley Community School’s graduation, plus performances by the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus.
