The putt-putt tournament of all putt-putt tournaments returns on Saturday.
The 2019 Ketchum Wide Open will be held Saturday, May 18.
Signs-ups start at 11 a.m. at the hole on Main Street next to Whiskey Jacques. And tee-off is at noon. Golfers have until 5 p.m. to finish. Awards will follow at 5:30 p.m.
Cost is $30 for teams of two. Scores will be taken for the best seven holes played. The coveted Golden Putter will be awarded to the golfer with the lowest score. There’ll also be prizes for best costumes. And there will even be awards presented to the golfer who traveled the farthest to participate, the youngest and older participants and the best hole.
Mulligans—aka alcoholic beverages-- may be purchased at any hole to decrease a score by the one.
You’ll find this year’s holes, which can get pretty creative, at Lefty’s Bar & Grill, Grumpy’s, Whiskey Jacques, The Cellar Pub, Sawtooth Brewery, Hotel Ketchum, The Argyros, The Casino, Smoky Mountain Pizzeria and Warfield Distillery.
The cabin fever-relieving Ketchum Wide Open is being organized by Grumpy’s Pete Prekeges and Rick Lethbridge, who owns the Cellar Pub.
Commemorative golf balls will be provided, but you should bring your own putter.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go to the Sawtooth Avalanche Center.
