The Seattle-based Gypsy Temple will headline The Argyros center’s first general admission concert on Saturday, May 18.
The concert—at 8 p.m.--is an all-ages, standing room show, which will feature local favorite St. Terrible as the opening act.
Tickets are $10 purchased before the performance and $15 on the day of the show.
Gypsy Temple is a multi-racial, four-piece alternative rock band that followed in the footsteps of Seattle’s Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.
Lead vocalist Cameron Lavi-Jones, bass player Hamoon Milaninia, drummer Kai Hill and electric cellist Cory Cavazos play poppy melodies set against driving rock jams.
The band plays a variety of genres, including alt rock, progressive rock, jazz, soul and even classical music, with the cello adding a twist. The group’s first album “King Youngblood” is scheduled to be released this month.
And the band calls it “a bold declaration that unironic, melodic rock’n’roll continues to stand tall as a vibrant medium of self-expression.”
“King Youngblood is about putting the world on notice that there is an army of dedicated intelligent progressive young people coming up—and coming in the wake of the current government and resurgence of blatant racism, and all of the reactionary badness going on right now,” says Lavi-Jones.
