Janice McGeachin, Idaho’s first female lieutenant governor, will offer her views on the just-finished legislative session at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 24.
McGeachin will speak during the Blaine County Republican Women’s General Meeting in the Golden Eagle Clubhouse at 200 S. Golden Eagle Drive.
McGeachin will discuss the bills that passed and the bills that didn’t in the session that ended April 11. Among the topics up for discussion: Medicaid Expansion, which passed; hemp legislation, which didn’t pass, and legislation that would have tightened requirements on citizen-initiated initiatives, which passed the Senate and House but was vetoed by Gov. Brad little.
McGeachin served in Idaho’s House for 10 years, during which she worked to implement Informed Consent and Ultrasound laws. She also worked to prevent the implementation of Obamacare in 2012
