The Community library will screen Sebastian Junger’s award-winning war documentary “Restrepo” at 6 tonight—Wednesday, April 3.
The free screening is being held in collaboration with Higher Ground, which will host Junger as the keynote speaker at its Hero’s Journey Gala July 2 in Sun Valley.
Junger, a correspondent for Vanity Fair and ABC News, has covered stories across the globe. His passion is helping people understand the reality of war and of war veterans.
“Restrepo,” a feature-length documentary, depicts a year with the men of Battle Company 2nd of the 503rd Infantry Regiment and the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team in the deadliest valley in Afghanistan. It depicts backbreaking labor, deadly firefights and the camaraderie among soldiers trying to push back the Taliban.
