Learn about the ways plants and animals have adapted to survive Sun Valley’s harsh mountain winters during a free snowshoe trek on Saturday, March 30.
Josh Johnson, a staff member with the Idaho Conservation League, will lead the trek from 1 to 3 p.m. near Prairie Creek and Billy’s Bridge.
Johnson will focus on winter animals, trees, tracking and how winter ecology influences ICL’s public lands work.
Johnson has a master’s degree in geology and experience as a naturalist and interpretive guide.
The hike is two miles long with minimal elevation gain. It will start at about 7,000 feet in elevation. Participants are asked to bring snow boots, snowshoes and warm layers for all kinds of weather. Call 208-726-7485 or email Emily Williams at ewilliams@idahoconservation.org to reserve your spot.
