Mindful Money.  Daring Greatly. Cooking for Environmental Stewardship.

The Flourish Foundation has three events coming up designed to help everyone kick off the New Year in thoughtful fashion.

  • “Mindful Money,” a free discussion, will examine our personal values and how families can manage a wide range of pressing social and human issues. It will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Ketchum’s Community Library.

Ryan Redman, the executive director of Flourish Foundation, will have a conversation with Mark George from Accord Capital Management. The two will explore such questions as: Who are you at your core? What core values most shape your life and decisions? How do your actions align with your values? How do your values impact your life, your family and your community?

Accord Capital Management developed Local Square, a collaborative forum and educational resource that strives to instigate meaningful conversations and deeper connections in communities.

  • “Daring Greatly” by Brene Brown will be the topic of the Words of Wisdom Book Club, which is open to the public from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Flourish Foundation office at 1030 Airport Way in Hailey.

The discussion will revolve around the No. 1 New York Times bestseller, which explores how the courage to be vulnerable transforms the way we live, love, parent and lead.

Representatives of Flourish Foundation and NAMI-WRV will offer some experiential exercises, in addition to discussing themes from the book.

There is no charge, but those who wish to attend are encouraged to RSVP with ryan@flourishfoundation.org.

  • Vegetarian Cooking for Environmental Stewardship will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at a private home in Hailey.

Paige Redman will discuss how consuming more of a plant-based diet has a dramatic effect in mitigating climate change and how being mindful of what we eat can be a powerful platform for environmental stewardship.

She will prepare recipes that support a plant-based diet.

Cost is $85. To register, email paige@flourishfoundation.org
