Author-filmmaker Greg Roach will serve up funny and inspiring stories about his travels to sacred places and the lessons he’s learned while on the road during a free talk today at Ketchum’s Community Library.
Roach will present “The Secret Alchemy of Travel” complete with beautiful photographs at 4 p.m. today—Friday, Jan. 4—at the library.
He will follow that up with another talk, “Bali: Mystical Wholeness,” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
That talk will delve into the rituals and beliefs that shape the lives of the Balinese and explore ways others can apply the lesson of the Balinese to their own lives.
Roach is the founder of Spirit Quest Tours, which he started after a life-changing experience in Egypt. He blogs regularly about his travels, and has lectured all over the world at such institutions as Cambridge University in England, speaking on such subjects as spirituality, comparative religion, scared sites and the potential of digital technology as an artistic and storytelling tool.
His latest writing describing how travel has the potential to be a powerful spiritual catalyst is featured in “Modern Alchemists from the Land of the Pharoahs.”
