Ketchum photographer Jeffrey Lubeck will hold an open house tonight to commemorate the release of his latest two coffee table photograph books.
The book signing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight—Friday, Dec. 21—at Lubeck’s MESH Art Gallery, 420 Fourth St. E. across from Atkinsons’ Market in Ketchum.
Lubeck, who specializes in landscape photography of the wilderness surrounding Sun Valley, has published two new books:
One, “Touring the Valley,” features photos of the landmark Finger of Fate, a granite spire visible from Hell Roaring Lake in the Sawtooth Mountains, and The Arrowhead. It also features photographs Lubeck took in the vicinity of Snowyside Peak, a 10,651-foot peak that can be accessed from Pettit Lake by way of the beautiful Alice Lake trail.
The second book, titled “The Wild Mustangs of Idaho,” features photographs Lubeck took of some of the wild horses in the Challis Herd Management Area near Challis.
He took them alongside Claire Porter, whose photographs have been featured at MESH Art Gallery.
The two had some amazing experiences in which the horses seemed to almost pose for them.
Lubeck has also published two other photograph books: “Capturing the Valley” and “Five Peaks.”
