The City of Hailey is eager to debut its own Town Square in hopes of turning the town into a destination where people want to spend time.
To that end, the city is hosting two workshops for the public to weigh in on the best site.
The first workshop will be held at 6:30 tonight—Monday, Nov. 5—at Hailey City Hall after the Planning and Zoning meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m.
A second will be held between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Hailey Public Library.
Twelve possible locations were identified during community workshops a few years ago. Those sites have been narrowed down to a few choices and will be up for consideration at the drop-in workshops, said City Aministrator Heather Dawson.
Considerations include points of interest, traffic circulation and parking patterns, key intersection, sun and shade and other environmental elements.
Once a favored site is selected, city planners will work on designing programs and amenities. They will then estimate costs and secure funding for the project.
