Three Healing Touch practitioners will offer free Healing Touch sessions from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept 10, at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden.
Katherine Pleasants, Sabrina DeBree and Wendy Collins will offer mini sessions for free. Any donations offered in return will be donated to the Sawtooth Botanical Garden.
“Performing Healing Touch at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden is going to be fabulous because we’re out in nature,” said Pleasants, who also offers restorative yoga classes in the Sun Valley area.
Healing Touch is a relaxing energy therapy involving gentle touch or even no touch to balance a person’s physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. It also is designed to promote a person’s natural ability to heal.
Pleasants has been practicing it since 2009 following courses offered at St. Luke’s Wood River and she has been donating her time to offer it to patients at the hospital.
She came up with the idea of offering an afternoon of the therapy at the garden after conducting a workshop there earlier this summer.
“Light on the Mountains Spiritual Center used to offer sessions for drop-ins but it’s not doing that anymore,” she said. “This will give anybody with stress, illness or other health concerns a chance to have their chakras balanced.”
