The Wood River Valley affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is hosting its third annual Swing Fore Recovery Golf Tournament, Reception and Raffle.
The tournament will kick off with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Elkhorn Golf Course. Teams will play in a scramble format, competing for prizes for best overall score, best hole and more.
The tournament was designed to raise awareness about mental health, to support NAMI—WRV’s free programs and to have fun.
This year NAMI-WRV will sell raffle tickets at both Farmers’ Markets. Raffle prizes include a Sun Valley Challenger Ski Pass worth $2,200, a BCRD Nordic Pass worth $259 and two $250 Atkinsons’ Market gift cards.
“We can share information on our four ongoing support groups, engage with the community and answer questions while we’re at the Farmers’ Markets,” said Chris Koch, the organization’s board president.
Entry cost for the tournament is $500 for a foursome; the reception from 5 to 7 p.m. costs an additional $50 and is open to the public, as well as golfers.
Sponsorship opportunities are available, as are tee box signs and in memoriam tee box signs honoring those who have been lost to a mental health condition.
Raffle tickets are $10 or three for $20, available at NAMI’s new office at the Community Campus and at the Farmers’ Markets in Ketchum on Tuesday and in Hailey on Thursdays. They’re also available online at www.nami-wrv.org/golf.
