Soprano Jessica Jones has sung her way through the pages of literature courses, appearing in such American operas as “Elmer Gantry,” “The Grapes of Wrath” and “The Turn of the Screw.”
And she appeared in Mason Bates’ world premiere of “The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs” produced by Santa Fe Opera last year.
On Monday, July 16, she will entertain Sun Valley music lovers in the intimate setting of Carole Lewis and Ted Walczak’s home.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with wine and appetizers followed by Jones’ performance at 7:30 p.m. Jones will be accompanied by pianist Sean Rogers.
Critics have called Jones “astonishing,” “thrilling” and “fabulous.” She was the district winner, audience favorite and a regional finalist of the Metropolitan National Council Auditions.
Her repertoire spans early music to contemporary opera, with her interpretation of bel canto and American opera garnering much attention.
She has performed with Sarasota Opera, American Lyric Theater, Utah Opera, Opera Idaho and the Crested Butte Music Festival, to name a few.
Tickets are $150 per person, available from Sun Valley Opera at 208-726-0991.
