100 Men Who Care could reach their milestone with a hundred men taking part in Tuesday’s event.
“A number of the guys have been recruiting new members for me so, hopefully, we will have the participation of at least a hundred guys,” said Co-Founder Marty Lyon.
Any man who wants to make a difference in the community is invited to take part in the 100 Men Who Cares gathering at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden. The event will be held in the garden’s gazebo at 5:30 p.m.
Several of the members are hosting a social featuring hors d’oeuvres and libations in the garden after the meeting.
100 Men Who Care gives Wood River Valley residents, second homeowners and even frequent visitors a chance to make cash gifts to support the projects of nonprofits in the valley.
The group meets four times a year for a brief meeting in which they vote on a nonprofit to support. Each man makes a $100 donation. Those who can’t be present at the meeting may send their donation to Lyon at 106 Red Cloud Way, Hailey, ID 83333.
The group gave $9,500 to Men’s Second Chance Living in April to help with an effort to provide housing for men transitioning out of rehab. 100 Men Who Care has given $126,050 since its inception in 2013.
