Want to reach into the medicine cabinet in your garden?
The Sawtooth Botanical Garden is hosting an intimate two-day workshop on Medicinal Plants of the Wood River Valley on Saturday and Sunday, July 7-8.
The instructor will be Darcy Williamson, an herbalist and author from the McCall area who will teach wildcrafting and herbal preparation techniques. Participants will harvest plants on and off site and learn to create useful products to take home.
Williamson, who has taught classes at the garden before, has written several books, including “Medicinal Plants of the Northwest.” And a copy of this spiral-bound 287-page book with pen and ink illustrations will be given to each student
Also included in the class fee are a Native American Medicinal Plant Chart and all materials to make the salves, syrups, teas and tinctures.
Cost is $195 for SBG members and $225 for nonmembers. Space is limited. To register, visit www.sbgarden.org or call 208-726-9358.
