Did you know that a bat’s wing anatomically resembles the human hand?
Or that bats, ranging from fish-eating bats to the blood-sucking vampire bats of South America, make up a quarter of all mammal species on earth?
Learn all about bats and what they do for us at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, when the Environmental Resource Center offers an evening devoted to the myth-understood creatures as part of its third annual Spring Science Series.
Kera Judy of Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve will offer the free presentation in the Queen of the Hills room at the Community Campus in Hailey.
The presentation, co-sponsored by College of Southern Idaho, is offered in conjunction with the ERC’s Spring Exploration series for third-grade classrooms in Blaine County.
