Walk through a “Journey to Wellness” on Thursday when NAMI-Wood River Valley hosts its second annual silent art auction.
The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at the old Ketchum Post Office or what most recently has served as the KIC building at 311 1st Ave. N.
Valley residents had contributed 75 works of art as of Monday evening depicting their versions of a journey to wellness. And works of art are still coming in.
The works encompass a variety of mediums, including jewelry, CD’s, videos, even food, in addition to oil paintings.
“This year we are going to have an interactive art show that walks you through a ‘journey to wellness.’ There will be silent auction components, with conversation starters to get visitors sharing about what can be a mental health and wellbeing experience in your own life,” said Christina Cernansky, executive director of the NAMI-WRV chapter.
This year’s auction was organized by Poo Wright-Pulliam, Marie Stewart, Kirk Anderson and David Rau. Money raised goes to NAMI’s free support groups and programs.
