The Limelight Hotel was named Business of the Year, and The Senior Connection, the Nonprofit of the Year, at The Chamber’s Annual Community Awards dinner this week.
“We are so grateful for all the support the Senior Connection has received from the community,” said Teresa Beahen Lipman, who accepted the award with The Connection’s Board Chair Michael Beck.
The third annual awards were voted on by Chamber members.
Other winners included Geegee Lowe for Best Community Service, Idaho Lumber for Best Customer Service and Red Door Design for Best Community Improvement.
“We are really proud of our members that continue to support our community by doing their business at such a high level and lead by example, said Todd Hunter, The Chamber’s board president.
One of those members is past Chamber President Debra Hall, who was honored for her continued commitment to the Wood River Valley through volunteering time, committing personal resources and working to better The Chamber to provide a stable, sustainable resource for the entire business community.
Hall, who owns Hallmark Properties real estate agency, even contributed to the fun factor of the Wood River Valley this past Christmas season as she turned her attention from houses made of bricks and boards to those made of gingerbread and gumdrops in a Gingerbread House competition that awarded Chamber Bucks to the winners.
