STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK
Create a colored ice sun catcher out of ice and snow. Build a roller coaster out of straws. Design a puppet, while learning the art of puppet theater.
It’s all part of Innovation Day JR at Community School and it will be offered to 4-through 8 year-olds on Sunday, Feb. 11. The event, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., will give students a chance to two different hour-long activities ranging from flying drones to making a mess and a masterpiece in Clay Play.
Community School staged its first Innovation Day aimed at engaging kids in fun STEAM-focused projects last fall.
That one, designed for Blaine County students in grades four through seven, proved so successful the school decided to do it again.
It’s free and it’s open to all students in Blaine County. But space is limited so students are encouraged to register in advance at http://bit.ly/CSINNOVATE.
